The Bacchanal is a painting about a party that has gone on too long, in the best way.
A round-bellied wine decanter holds the bouquet where the wine should be, and stemmed glasses drawn in yellow oil stick crowd the table around it. Coral, salmon and deep red blooms press against a ground of pink and navy, and nothing in the room is standing quite straight.
It holds the heat of the night after the third bottle, when nobody is behaving and nobody wants to go home.
