Seen/ Unseen

$4,800.00

Seen / Unseen asks a simple but complicated question: How much of ourselves is ever truly visible?

Layers of flowers, reflections, and shifting forms emerge and dissolve across the surface, mirroring the way identity is experienced in real life. We are constantly navigating the space between what we feel internally and what others are able to perceive. Some parts of ourselves remain visible and legible, while others stay hidden, protected, or difficult to name.

Throughout A Series in Flowers, reflection serves as both a visual device and a metaphor. In Seen / Unseen, the bouquet becomes a stand-in for the self, fragmented and layered, revealing itself only in pieces. Moments of clarity exist alongside ambiguity, creating a painting that rewards prolonged looking and invites multiple interpretations.

Rather than offering answers, the work embraces uncertainty. Forms appear, disappear, and reappear, much the way memory, identity, and self-understanding evolve over time. The painting becomes a meditation on perception, reminding us that what is visible is only part of the story.

At its heart, Seen / Unseen is about complexity. It honors the parts of ourselves that are openly shared and the parts that remain known only to us.
