Daylight
Daylight is about the moment when you finally step back and see the whole picture.
Much of life is experienced up close. We become focused on individual details, isolated moments, and immediate concerns. When we are standing too close, it can be difficult to understand how the pieces fit together or where we are headed. This painting grew out of the realization that clarity often arrives only when we create enough distance to see things as a whole.
Throughout A Series in Flowers, flowers serve as a visual language for identity, memory, resilience, and transformation. In Daylight, the arrangement becomes a reflection on perspective. Up close, the painting is filled with individual marks, colors, and gestures. Stepping back reveals something entirely different: a larger image that could never be understood from a single detail alone.
The experience mirrors life itself. There are seasons when we are immersed in the complexity of individual moments and others when we gain enough distance to recognize patterns, growth, and meaning. That shift in perspective can feel monumental.
At its heart, Daylight is a painting about clarity. It celebrates the rare and powerful moments when we step back, see the full picture for what it is, and recognize that what once felt fragmented was part of something larger all along.
